Right after the ice melts, spring is the perfect time to spot a Saimaa ringed seal. In spring, these charming seals bask on the shoreline rocks, soaking up the sun while shedding their winter fur. Join a guided seal-watching tour and witness this unique creature in its natural habitat.
Spring also marks the beginning of other open-water lake activities, such as fishing safaris and cruises to the national park.

A seal-watching tour to Linnansaari National Park, the home waters of the Saimaa ringed seal, is an unforgettable experience. Our skipper will take you through the maze-like archipelago of Linnansaari, to the best seal-watching spots. During the trip, we’ll search for seals lounging on the shoreline rocks and observe other national park residents, such as ospreys, waterbirds, and occasionally even beavers. To finish off the morning adventure, we’ll enjoy a traditional Savonian espresso with a savory treat at the Safari House.

This daily self-guided trip takes you on an adventure through the stunning Saimaa archipelago. The cruise departs from Järvisydän and takes you to the maze-like waters of Linnansaari National Park, home to the Saimaa ringed seal.
At Linnansaari, you can explore the scenic Linnavuori lookout point, visit the Sammakkoniemi campsite, discover the old quarry museum croft, or hike the nature trails at your own pace.

FISHING SAFARIS – DAILY ON REQUEST
Join us for an unforgettable fishing safari in the rich waters of Linnansaari, guided by an expert who knows the best fishing spots like the back of their hand! During the trip, you’ll get hands-on experience with modern active fishing techniques using the most suitable equipment for the season. The most common catches include pike, zander, and perch.
All fishing gear and local fishing permits are provided – you only need to bring weather-appropriate clothing and your personal fisheries management fee.
