How to use your fireplace
There are 2 types of fireplaces in Kuru: bioethanol and wood-burning.
Note! Under no circumstances use firewood in the fireplace if your accommodation has a bioethanol fireplace.
USING THE BIOETHANOL FIREPLACE: Open the fireplace door. Inside the fireplace, you will find the bioethanol container. Open the lid and light the bioethanol. Please note that bioethanol burns with a dim flame at first. Therefore, the fireplace is likely on after ignition, even if the flame is not visible. You can ensure successful ignition by carefully checking if the fireplace radiates heat - do not burn yourself! The flame will grow stronger after a moment.
You can adjust the flame and the burning speed of the bioethanol by moving the lid of the container. Similarly, to extinguish the fireplace, use the lid. Smother the flame by placing the lid completely over the container. Please use the designated tool for this, and always remember to handle fire with caution.
The bioethanol tank will be filled daily by our cleaning staff.
USING THE WOOD-BURNING FIREPLACE: The fireplace gives heat to your villa so start with only a few pieces of wood. Please make sure that there are no flammable materials near the fireplace!
1. Put wood in the fireplace
2. Pull open the draft hatch on the front side of the fireplace and make sure that the damper in the flue is pulled open
3. Put a kindling peace in between the firewood and light up the fireplace
You can find more firewood near Villas 4 and 7. Please, remember to put out the fire when leaving the room.
Always make sure to put off the fire before leaving your room!
Enjoy your cozy moments!
