SAIMAAHOLIDAY HAS BEEN GRANTED WITH THE OFFICIAL SUSTAINABILITY ECOLABEL “NORDIC SWAN”

Nordic Swan or Nordic Ecolabel is the official sustainability ecolabel for the Nordic Countries. Applicant of Nordic Swan agrees to follow certain criteria, set by the Nordic Ecolabelling together with stakeholders. The criteria include environmental, quality and health arguments.

Saimaaholiday resorts Hotel & Spa Resort Järvisydän and SaimaaHoliday Oravi have been granted with Nordic Swan ecolabel in product group for hotels, restaurant and congress centres.

State of being environmentally friendly is important to SaimaaHoliday group even it’s not always visible. The premises and equipment are acknowledged to respond to the criteria. The heating of the resorts is generated by geothermal heating and solar power. For cleaning environmentally friendly products are used. In the restaurants is served responsibly produced food and the origins of the ingredients are always told to customers.

Now both SaimaaHoliday Järvisydän and SaimaaHoliday Oravi both exceed the criteria for Nordic Swan ecolabel, and they are actively preparing for the future requirements.
