Our new, recently completed Fire Kitchen is at the heart of our restaurant. We will take you on a tasty adventure on the Saimaa waters and easterly forests. For your enjoyment, the Fire Kitchen will prepare you a meal from seasonal, locally sourced, and Finnish ingredients, often based on local traditions. We always serve foods from our local fishers and hunters, all prepared on an open fire. The essence of the Fire Kitchen is a live fire, from where the cooks will serve your delicious dinner.

Prior reservations made for the Tavern’s Fire menu will be automatically transferred to the Fire Kitchen.
Live fire is the essence of the Fire Kitchen
Järvisydän started up from cooking by a live fire. In the Fire Kitchen we value these Järvisydän traditions by continuing to offer locally sourced, unique ingredients and cooking you the perfect meal on an authentic open fire.
We always want to offer ultimately fresh food and to minimise waste. Therefore, our ingredients vary according to availability. This means that we don't have a set menu but prepare our dinner based on the ingredients available at the time. Here on the shores of Lake Saimaa, this entails pure freshwater fish, berries and mushrooms from the forest, and game provided by local hunters; not forgetting bread from neighbouring farms, indigenous Jorma barley, vegetables, cheese, meat, and other choice ingredients.
Living according to the season of the year, artisanship, and acknowledging the ongoing season and ingredients, are the essence of the Fire Kitchen. By combining all of these, our cooks prepare a delicious local dinner which we serve in our atmospheric Wine Cellar and Fire Kitchen.

Fire kitchen dinner menu
We serve starters to the table. Our assortment of starters consists of authentic Savonian tastes: cold cut platter of meat, fish, and vegetables. Fresh bread and home-made butter.
As the main hot course, we serve fish from Lake Saimaa along with game and meat sourced from nearby forests and farms, served with cold and warm side dishes. Our hot food is served directly from the open fireside of the Fire Kitchen. We are not considering offering hot dishes from a buffet but take this opportunity to serve you the most delicious local food prepared on the open fire – fresh from our formidable Fire Kitchen.
